Argentina & Antarctica Argentina & Antarctica
Antarctica, known as the Great White Continent, is the world’s last great wilderness area & is often considered the ultimate travel destination. It is the coldest and driest continent on Earth; the planet’s most remote continent with unspoilt, awe-inspiring scenery, and incredible wildlife encounters.

This is travel to the end of the earth… Departing from Ushuaia, Argentina, the southernmost city in the world, we embark our ship and sail through the fabled Drake Passage, where the Atlantic and Pacific meet the Great Southern Ocean to create the Antarctic Convergence. While cruising the Peninsula, we sail along ice-filled fjords and between spectacular icebergs. We will explore the amazing pristine wilderness of snow, ice and mountains, and an incredibly wide variety of wildlife.

Apart from penguins and seabirds you are likely to see Weddell, crabeater and leopard seals along with Minke, killer (orca) and humpback whales at close range. We then spend 4 fabulous nights in Buenos Aires, Argentina's most cosmopolitan city. We visit elegant Recoleta, home to upscale shops and La Recoleta Cemetery, with the ornate graves of Eva Perón (a famous former First Lady) and other Argentine luminaries. San Telmo, the oldest barrio in the city, has cobblestone streets and fabulous bars and cafes. La Boca, offers colourful Caminito alley and people everywhere dancing the tango; and Palermo’s leafy streets are lined with hip boutiques. We watch a Tango Show & spend a day at an Estancia outside of the city, and enjoy a true Argentinean papilla BBQ.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  THE OCEAN NOVA  -

The Ocean Nova is not a luxury vessel. She is an Expedition boat; accommodation and facilities are a little more basic than on the luxury cruise ships, so you will not be paying the luxury boat rates. And she is small - she carries a maximum of 68 passengers on board, which makes for a very personalised Antarctica experience. With a high ice class rating, outstanding manoeuvrability and a first rate Captain allow Ocean Nova to access places other ships simply can't reach. And with a fleet of 7 Zodiac boats passengers are able to get ashore together, at least once or twice a day. No waiting! Her large expeditionary staff means one of the highest passenger to staff ratio of any Antarctic ship. She has a Panoramic lounge with 200 degree views - this is a popular place for wildlife viewing while keeping warm! AND she is stocked with delicious Chilean Wine, which is complimentary with meals....

Travelling on this small expedition ship offers an entirely different experience and perspective than you can get on a larger and more conventional cruise ship.

If this sounds like you and you would really love the adventure then book yourself away now.  This tour is very limited and is run by our gorgeous friends in NZ....  Contact Andrea now with any questions!
