Here are some answers to questions we receive from our lovely Divas – however, if the information you require is not here or you would like to discuss something in more detail then please contact us and we will get back to you.
1. What is the general age on the tours?
There is no general age group on our tours. We have had Divas travel with us that age from 21 to 75+ and we have always had a ball! Travelling in a small group of fabulous women is about a shared passion for travel and life. Divas are single, married, empty-nesters, professionals; a mix of solo travellers, girlfriends, mothers and daughters, sisters, co-workers – and many more!
2. Do you have to be a particular level of fitness?
Our tours are designed for women of all ages and fitness levels. However at times you should be able to walk for a reasonable length of time, and be able to walk up steps and over uneven surfaces.
We have now introduced our active tours that include hiking. You must have a level of fitness that does allow you to hike for several hours, sometimes up mountains and over rocky terrain, and the level of difficulty will be provided in the tour details themselves. However, if you are not able to sustain several hours of walking even on easier ground then these would not suit.
3. Why don’t you include airfares and insurance in your tours?
There is such a proliferation of deals available we believe it is better value and offers wider choice and flexibility for you to choose your own options – we do provide recommended airlines for the destinations we are travelling to and have access to very good travel professionals who can assist you with flights. Many Divas want to use their frequent flyer points or have an airline preference and we respect that. From time-to-time where required for transport during the tour we will include internal airfares in certain destinations. At all times we are very happy to assist with competitive airfares via our travel connections.
The same goes for insurance. We offer an option via Travelling Divas, but again a lot of Divas have access to corporate policies, credit card providers (please check what they offer against a regular insurance provider to ensure you are completely covered) and have their own preference.
4. What happens if minimum numbers aren’t reached for a tour to depart?
If minimum number requirements are not achieved, then we will offer the option to those booked to re-cost the itinerary based on the number travelling and decide from there. If the tour does not proceed we will give you plenty of notice and refund your deposit in full.
5. If I am sharing with a ‘travel buddy’ and we don’t get on or if there is another issue, what happens?
If you decide to move to another room during the tour due to a personality difference or any sharing difficulties, then the price difference will need to be paid at the time, based on the rates available from the hotels/suppliers. This will be at your own cost. There is an etiquette for sharing with someone you don’t know and things such as if you know you snore, continued mobile phone usage during sleeping hours, tidiness etc., should be taken into account if you choose the ‘travel buddy’ option.
6. Can I extend my tour beyond the provided dates?
Travelling Divas can provide rates at the hotels, additional excursions and recommendations should you decide to extend once we finish our tour We can work together on an extended itinerary to suit your budget.
7. Where does my money get paid to?
Travelling Divas is also a fully insured business in its own right and is a member of the Council of Australian Tour Operators (CATO). Your funds are held in our separate client accounts and all deposits and final payments are transacted from these accounts.
