In August 2018 the Bhutanese Government are waiving the mandatory of USD200 per day fee for Australian Passport holders - that's a saving of USD2000 for a 10 day journey through the Kingdom of Happiness!  And our co-conspirator at Classic Safaris have  brought this spectacular journey to life as a collaboration with Travelling Divas.  So if you want style at a steal (this is once-in-a-lifetime offer I think) then book now and don't miss out!

The tiny kingdom of Bhutan remains enigmatic, unspoilt and deeply spiritual. Off  limits to travellers until 1974, today the country continues to preserve its customs and age‐old traditions and is regarded as one of the last ‘Shangri‐La's on earth’!

Our journey through the Kingdom of Happiness begins in the bustling capital, Thimphu, where we will not only visit the Memorial Chorten & Pangri Zampa, we will be honoured guests at the Opening Ceremony of ’Mountain Echoes’ ‐  Bhutan’s annual Festival of Literature, Art & Culture.

From Thimpu we journey to Punakha over the stunning Dochu‐la Pass, through emerald valleys set against a backdrop of Himalayan peaks. Around Punakha we explore ancient spiritual, cultural & historical sites including the ‘Palace of Great Happiness’ and Khamsum Yuelley Namgel Chorten.  We will experience Bhutanese rural life, spending time with families in traditional homes in Nobgang & Taro villages before travelling west through stunning valleys dotted with ancient chortens and monasteries to reach Paro.

As we wander the street markets we will immerse ourselves in local life including participating in a traditional Bhutanese cooking class. An optional hike to the awe‐inspiring ‘Tiger’s Nest’ Monastery, perched on a rocky ledge 900m above the Paro Valley floor, is on offer before we celebrate our final evening in Bhutan with a Gala Dinner in traditional ‘Kira’ (Bhutanese aƫre).

Join us on this exceptional journey to experience Bhutan  ‐ where the religion is uplifting, the air is pure, the architecture inspiring, the mountains magnificent and the people are absolutely delightful!

GETTING THERE:

We can assist with flights and the internal flights to Bhutan from Bangkok and return must be booked with us (so it is probably better to book all flights direct with us to ensure that we can manage arrivals and departures, including group transfers).
