DAY 3 – MONDAY 20: GLORIOUS GARDENS, YSL MUSEUM AND THE HEART OF MARRAKECH…

After breakfast, we’ll visit the world-famous Majorelle Garden. Once the private home of painter Jacques Majorelle, this colourful garden and villa are filled with cacti, bamboo and other rare and exotic plants. Lovingly restored by legendary fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent, it is a beautifully tranquil retreat in the heart of Marrakech.

We’ll also visit the fascinating onsite Berber Museum, with time to explore the stylish boutiques across the road.

From here, we’ll wander up the street to the Yves Saint Laurent Museum, an incredible space dedicated to the life and work of one of fashion’s most celebrated designers.

We’ll enjoy lunch nearby at Pétanque Social Club before returning to our riads for a swim and some downtime.

In the early evening, you may choose to join an optional guided wander through Jemaa el-Fnaa at sunset. For a thousand years, this extraordinary square has served as a gathering place and marketplace at the heart of Marrakech. As the sun sets, Jemaa el-Fnaa truly comes alive with Berber musicians, Gnaoua dancers, acrobats, performers and henna artists filling the square with colour, sound and energy.

With more than 3,000 stalls, the souks of Marrakech are the largest in Morocco and are celebrated as some of the world’s most exotic marketplaces. Prepare for your senses to be wonderfully overwhelmed! The souks are the beating heart of the medina and have been central to trade in the city for a thousand years. Even if shopping isn’t your passion, they are an extraordinary spectacle and an essential Marrakech experience.

Between our explorations, we’ll enjoy lunch at the always-fabulous Les Terrasses des Épices.

There is no predefined route; our adventure will be tailored to our interests and what we would most like to experience.

We’ll be dropped off at Plus 61, where we’ll enjoy lunch at our own expense before transferring to Essaouira.

After an approximately three-hour drive, we’ll arrive at L’Heure Bleue Palais, our gorgeous home for the next three nights. Ideally positioned at the edge of the medina, this beautiful property features a traditional hammam and a panoramic rooftop pool overlooking the medina and Atlantic Ocean.

The medina is where local life unfolds and pausing to sip mint tea feels like a sacred ritual. We’ll discover silversmiths, textile artists, designer boutiques and the Bayt Dakira Jewish Museum, which offers a fascinating insight into Morocco’s Jewish history.

We’ll enjoy lunch at the fabulous Caravane Café before spending the rest of the day exploring—and perhaps indulging in a little more shopping…
