✈️ Six of the Best: How to Stay Healthy (and Stylish) on a Long Flight

Join our Diva tribe and keep up to date with the latest tour releases and more.

Small rituals, big difference — the art of arriving ready, not rumpled.

The Quiet Art of Flying Well

It’s less about chasing luxury than creating ease — those little rituals that help you stay composed and arrive feeling ready, not rumpled.
Long flights can drain your energy, but with a few mindful choices, you can turn them into time well spent regardless of where you’re sitting.

1. Dress Smart, Stay Sleek

What you wear at 35,000 feet can set the tone for the entire journey. The secret is elevated comfort — breathable fabrics, soft tailoring, and thoughtful layering.

Try Anatomie’s wrinkle-resistant travel trousers with a silk tee from Vince (or your favourite silk fashion house), finished with a cashmere wrap from White + Warren or Bamford. Add oversized sunglasses and you’re instantly lounge-ready.

Diva Tip: A structured cardigan or light blazer adds polish and keeps you warm when the cabin cools.  We love cashmere wraps because they are warm, breathable and go anywhere.

2. The Right Shoes Change Everything

Feet swell mid-air, so your footwear needs to be forgiving without losing its style edge.

Slip-ons from Rothy’s, Vionic or M.Gemi tick both boxes — they support circulation while keeping your look refined. Pair them with Falke Energy or Sockwell compression socks for extra comfort.

Diva Tip: Keep a pair of foldable slippers in your carry-on for in-flight comfort — an elegant touch that makes you feel instantly at home.

3. Eat Light, Hydrate Often

Dehydration is the silent saboteur of air travel. Skip the salty snacks and heavy meals — they’ll only slow you down. Instead, bring a small stash of almonds, apple slices, or roasted chickpeas. Choose herbal teas or electrolyte tablets over coffee or wine.

A few spritzes mid-flight keep your skin fresh and your mood lifted. Keep a refillable water bottle close and sip often — the most underrated travel beauty secret.

Diva Tip: Start hydrating the day before your flight and carry your own refillable bottle — you’ll feel noticeably brighter on arrival.

4. Sleep with Intention

Quality rest in the air is possible — it just requires a little preparation. Pack a contoured silk eye mask (we love Slip or our Travelling Divas’ silk eye mask), a supportive travel pillow, and noise-cancelling headphones (Sony WH-1000XM5 are divine).

Reset your body clock early: switch your watch to destination time as you board and dim your screen before trying to sleep.

Diva Tip: A light spritz of mist signals to your senses that it’s time to rest.

5. Soundtrack Your Sky Time

Music can change your whole in-flight mood. Build playlists that ebb and flow with your journey — calm instrumentals for take-off, something uplifting mid-flight, then mellow jazz or acoustic pieces before landing.

Try Peaceful Piano, Café del Mar Classics, or your own curated “Wheels Up” mix.

Diva Tip: Use noise-cancelling headphones to create your own sanctuary, no matter how busy the cabin.

6. Read to Re-Centre

There’s a rare stillness in flight — hours suspended between worlds. Use it to read something that feeds your imagination.
Pack a novel set in your next destination (The Island by Victoria Hislop for Greece; The Paris Library for France), a beautifully written memoir, or a copy of Suitcase or Porter magazine.

Diva Tip: Skip the inbox — your mind will thank you for the mental space.
